It’s important to acknowledge that the results of cosmetic surgery can vary among individuals, and no outcomes are guaranteed.
Honestly, surgery appeared to be the only practical solution. Despite my efforts with exercise and dietary changes, nothing significantly improved my abdominal area.
I started by conducting online research, beginning with a basic Google search for abdominoplasty. That search led me to investigate various options. I considered a few different places, but things really began to move forward when I contacted a clinic and spoke with a Patient Care Coordinator. From there, everything started to come together.
I didn’t really engage with forums or groups. My approach was straightforward—I read through various companies’ websites to gather the information I needed.
I already knew that an abdominoplasty was the procedure I required. During my consultation, the doctor explained the various types, such as the fleur-de-lys, mini, and complete abdominoplasties. The doctor recommended the complete abdominoplasty for my circumstances, and it made sense to follow that advice.
It was a very positive experience—everyone was welcoming and supportive.
It was an excellent experience. I traveled to Mumbai, India, to meet the doctor, who was very approachable and provided all the information I needed. I felt confident in moving forward with them.
We covered the details of the procedure—what it would involve, how long it would take, the expected outcomes, and the potential side effects. The doctor was realistic and didn’t make any overblown promises, which I appreciated. I’m very happy with the results.
After gathering all the necessary information and meeting the doctor, I felt secure in my choice. There was no need to search further.
Naturally, I was a bit anxious, as is expected with any surgery, but I was also eager. I wanted the procedure done promptly, especially before my maternity leave ended.
The Patient Care Coordinator stayed in regular contact with me through phone calls and text messages. They checked in frequently, especially on the day of the surgery and the day after.
It was a seamless experience. The nurse I saw was very friendly and ensured all the necessary checks were completed—height, weight, photos, and the MRSA test. She asked a lot of questions to make sure everything was in order.
I planned for a four-week recovery period before returning to work. I was advised that I would begin feeling better after 2-3 weeks, so I prepared for that timeline.
Yes, I felt fully prepared. I stocked up on Bio-oils, creams, and scar gels and ordered my compression garment as soon as I returned home from the clinic. I also ensured I had support in place to help with the baby.
We woke up early and traveled to the clinic in Mumbai, where I was admitted and shown to my room. The nurses were welcoming and conducted all the necessary pre-surgery checks. The doctor and anesthetist both visited me before I was taken to the operating room around 10 o’clock.
The next thing I remember is waking up around 3 in the afternoon. The nurses were very attentive, assisting me whenever I needed to get up. The doctor checked on my incisions, and they kept me comfortable with pain relief medication.
I had some toast afterward but found it difficult to eat because my mouth was dry—a common side effect of anesthesia. I managed to eat some soft Rice Krispies and drank plenty of water to stay hydrated. I spent the night at the clinic and, despite the stormy weather, I slept well. The next morning, the doctor checked on me again before I was discharged.
I would highly recommend the doctor. They are meticulous and genuinely care about their patients. They don’t just see you as a number; they want to ensure you’re doing well throughout the process.
The first few days were difficult—I was very sore, and getting up was challenging. But with plenty of pillows and support from those around me, I managed. I had done extensive research, which prepared me for what to expect. The discomfort wasn’t as severe as I had anticipated.
The doctor remained in touch, checking on my progress regularly. They are direct but kind, which I appreciated.
Even though I was swollen, I could see a significant improvement right away, which was very encouraging.
It’s been two months since the operation, and I’m very pleased with the results. The swelling has decreased, and I’m eager to resume exercising. The doctor mentioned that I should be able to do pretty much anything, including weight lifting, after three months. My abdomen is now proportionate to the rest of my body, and I feel great.
I would definitely encourage them to go for it. It’s been a life-changing experience for me. I used to feel extremely self-conscious, especially during the summer, but now I feel confident and free from those concerns.
